2011 Food Drive at August 17 Meeting

Last year's holiday food drive was a huge success. In November, we collected 168 items of nonperishable food and $622.50 cash!

So we will be doing this again in August!

At the August 17 meeting, GANG will conduct a food drive with Gleaners - a community food bank dedicated to southeast Michigan.  This is your chance to help our less fortunate neighbors and win a stellar prize - your donation will enter you into a raffle for a Telerik Ultimate Suite!  The more you donate, the better your chance will be to win.  We will accept non-perishable food items or cash (by check only) donations.  One raffle ticket can be purchased with a single food item or a single dollar – your choice.

• All meeting attendees are eligible for the raffle.
• The raffle will take place at the end of the meeting.
• All food and cash will be donated to Gleaners Community Food Bank Center at 2131 Beaufait Detroit

Food Donations

• One food item (bag/can/box) buys one raffle ticket
• Large items may earn multiple tickets – common sense will be applied in translating to tickets
• Please no opened or expired food items
• Please avoid glass containers
• Suggested food items
• Tuna Fish
• Canned Meat
• Beef Stew
• Meat Soups, Hearty Soups
• Canned Spaghetti or Pasta
• Beans (kidney, pinto, green, yellow, refried or black beans)
• Baby Food or Formula
• Ensure or other nutritional Supplements Drinks
• Rice
• Dry Beans
• Noodles, Macaroni
• Powdered Milk
• Pancake or Baking Mixes
• Cereal/Oatmeal
• Granola Bars
• Peanut Butter (in plastic jars)
• Jelly (in plastic jars)

Cash Donations

• $1 buys one raffle ticket.
